I just bought the Clearasil Ultra Acne Solution System, and the Pimple Blocker Pen, from target. I am 16, and never used a Acne Treatment, but I have been noticing small pimples constantly. I wanted to ask, which acne treatment worked for you, and is Clearasil a good brand to trust?

I agree with Chris, proactive doesn’t work at all.

I used to have pretty bad acne.
I started using St. Ives Apricot scrub
and Vitamin E sticks for spot treatment.

Ok. So just recently (like a couple of months ago) i had one of the biggest breakouts of my life. I have used just about every over-the-counter acne treatment system on the market. I have scheduled an appointment with the dermatologist for a Smoothbeam treatment. I am so sick of my acne its hard to look in the mirror. I’ve been using Proactive and it hasn’t been working that well. M y acne got better but it didn’t go that extra step. Is there a face wash and on the spot treatment/acne system that seems to really work? My acne isn’t that bad. I have like 10 kind of small pimples on my forehead and checks. I also have VERY dry skin. Thank you

For dry skin, Proactive really isn’t the best choice. It makes your skin really dry because the ingredients are harsh.

From my experience, I’ve tried several acne systems and have friend’s experiences as well, so here’s my input on some possible choices:

Clean and Cear Acne Kit–I tried this one and it worked really well in clearing my skin. Its a three step process as well, similar to Proactive, but the last part is a spot treatment which is really good at getting individual zits to go away. Sells for about $20 at Wal-mart

Acne Free–basically the same as Proactive, for half the price. I had some friends who really had good results with this. Tried it myself, but it didn’t do anything. But I’ve had several friends whose faces became clear and they swore this was a good product

Dermatologist Reccomended: combination Retinol and Differin–my dermatologist reccoemmended this one to me when nothing seemed to work, and it cleared most of my acne save a few pimples. If you find that none other product works, go to your dermatologist and get them to prescribe something especially for you.

Murad Acne Complex–this worked the best for me, with a whole bunch of natural oils in it to make sure my face stayed moisturize. it also has a product with sulfur in it, and if you have ever sat in a natural hot tub from volcanoe water, you would understand how well sulfur clears the skin. It sells for a bit more, about $30, on you have to get in online

In order to treat very sensitive, irritated, combination skin with acne, what acne treatment system is best to use for my skin, either from experience, or knowledge.. It gets irritated very, very easily. Dermatologists can’t help, I’ve been to three. Don’t say proactiv.

None. Seriously. Especially for sensitive skin, you need to just give it a break. Skin isn’t naturally like that. And chemicals in the acne medications aren’t good for it. The only thing I would recommend, is watch what you eat. and for skin care, use all natural products that will actually benefit your skin. The main natural product known for fighting acne is tea tree oil. It works awesomely
