Once my acne was under control i now used a gentle cleanser , BHA liquid from paula’s chocie and OXY Spot every 4 days.

I’m 24 now and for years had frequent cystic acne on my chin. About 6 months ago I decided to give benzoyl peroxide a chance; I bought a 10% face wash and began using it on my chin during breakouts. I was terribly self-conscious about my skin when I started to get more and more breakouts in my 20s. A co-worker recommended the “Cosmetics Cop,” Paula Begoun’s books to me, I followed her skin-care advice, and my skin totally improved. thanks for the advice!! I have the exact same acne…its the underneath the skin kind where it feels sore too. Nothing to squeeze…so tried the clinique too and it did not work at all!! It was a waste of money. Then i discovered mario badescu and seems to be the only thing that works. I use the buffering lotion which is made to get the breakouts that are deep under the skin.

I’m over 50 and (unfortunately) still use benzoyl peroxide and it does work. TWO bits of advice though, are be sure it’s dried before you go to sleep or it can rub into your eyes AND it can also bleach out the color of your pillow cases. Hopes this helps…

@kals1319, Retin-A is only available through a doctor’s prescription. It’s very strong, that’s why it’s not available over the counter. But you can get Retin-A from any online pharmacy, but I would advise against that because you can easily harm your skin if you don’t know what you’re doing.

I have been using benzoyl peroxide and retin-a for the past 4 weeks and i have not noticed too much of an improvement. my skin is drier than ever but i think i have that pretty much taken care of. my doctor told me to give it a good six weeks before i see a lot of improvement. so i’m waiting. i am just so sick of having bad skin. i am almost 18 and i have suffered with it all of my teen years. i hope this is the cure for it!! thanks for the video! your the best!!

I am finally seeing results on my acne. I tried what you did, but I’m forty six and it was hormonal as well as lifelng (13). I finally got a strong gycolic peel that I use once a month for a week, Cetephyl cleanser for normal skin (the oily is too harsh) and Differin. It started to get better, but the real fix seems to be coming from the Clairisonic Mia I bought. It was a lot of money, but I don’t regret it. I finally feel almost normal. It gets out the crud without damage. I still use BP too.

I noticed that your video’s where missing, too and some I’d favorited. I am glad to hear you didn’t do it. I wish I’d had a way to protect them, because I watch them more than once, often with a mirror and makeup in my hand. BTW, you’re right about the matching concealer. Wish I’d watched that BEFORE I spent a fortune on my Bobbi Brown concealer. I’m glad I can use it on clients.

i totally agree with you….i use a similar regimen execpt i use murad it works for me……its true with acne though you just find a regimen that works for you….

You are so correct …
You are so correct in your criticism about Clinique. I used their products when I was a teenager and although I didn’t have severe acne, it became worse after I used their products. I went back and complained and they gave me some other products but again it didn’t work. It was a waste of money. Then I started using Murad products and they were much better for me. Thanks for sharing your experience Wayne.
