1. Wash your face every day. You can use regular soap, but they sell special kinds of soap to get rid of the oil in your pores. Here’s some examples:

2. Use an astringent after washing. That will help remove the reside and oil that the soap leaves behind. It also removes a lot of the redness from swollen pustules. Put a reasonable amount of the astringent onto a cotton ball (you don’t need to soak it). Rub it in small circles all over your face and let it dry.

3. Apply a substantial amount of honey to your face every few weeks and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Honey is a natural antibacterial that will get rid of blemishes, sore spots, and scars.

4. Having long hair will contribute greatly to your acne. If you can, keep your hair out of your face and the number of zits near your hairline will decrease. I personally let my hair grow out to about 3-4 inches, my acne near my hairline was terrible. Then I got a buzz cut, and now I get zits near my hairline about as often as anywhere else on my face.

5. Change your pillowcase often. Think about it; your face is pressed against it for a little less that half of your life, so lots of oil builds up on your pillow.

Good luck!

I just got Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser today, and I already used it once. It makes my skin feel all cold, but it doesnt irritate.

Does Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser work?
If it doesnt work what SHOULD I use?

Yes!
I have that plus a Deep Cleansing one.
I love the way it makes my skin tingle!
It shows me that it is working.

I have cystic acne, and my doctor told me that I should definitely try Accutane. The only issue is that my insurance doesn’t cover it and it would cost over $1000 a month. I’ve been using the Murad acne process and that’s been working well for me, but that doesn’t work for the cystic acne under the skin, only the blemishes on the top layer. Are there any other medications or products that have worked on cystic acne that you know of? Thank you times ten in advance.
I’m already using a topical treatment called Murad. It’s basically Proactive x10 so that really won’t help me. That doesn’t take care of acne under the skin, only on top.

For bad acne like this that isn’t topical, just about everything other than accutane is useless. Accutane guarantees results and there really arn’t any other choices on the market right now for severe acne. It’s also fustrating when people do not realize that topical treatments do not work for the kind of acne we have. They, at the best of times, merely keep the acne from getting worse if they do even that. There is nothing special in proactive. You can find the same ingredients in store brand soaps that cost 10 times less.

Do know that often the treatment is not permanent, though. I’ve been on it three times, and will probably opt for a lifetime treatment taking one pill a week. It works very well for me, but the effects are not permanent. The only saving grace here is I get months of accutane for free (I live in Canada).

I sincerely hope that accutane works for you the first time and you can slay this awful disease.

I have oily skin that can dry out easily with some products.

Neutrogena

I used practically everything and nothing works! I HATE ACNE ON MY FACE, IT JUST WON’T GO AWAY! NOTHING WORKS!! I eat really good and i have enough sleep and i always wash my face with soap before bed and when i wake up but it won’t go away. Someone please give me something that’s works 100000000%. I need something that really works. I’ve used Proactiv, OXY, lots of other cleaners, and this benzoyl paroxide or whatever which was PRESCRIBED by a dermatologist but I guess I went to a cheap dermatologist. It even says on ads for this "Clearer skin in less than 2 weeks!" and I’ve been using this crap for 3 MONTHS. My acne is not HORRIBLE but it’s a little noticable cause I have a lot of pimples on my forehead and SO MANY BLACKHEADS ON MY NOSE!!! I HATE acne it’s disgusting and won’t go away! GIVE ME SOMETHING THAT GETS RID OF ACNE AND KEEPS IT GONE!

REMEMBER I HAVE BLACKHEADS ON AND AROUND MY NOSE AND A COUPLE PIMPLES AROUND MY FACE BUT MY FOREHEAD AND NOSE ARE MY MAIN CONCERNS.

I struggled with horrid acne all throughout high school. Two dermatologists, oral medications, specially ordered stuff like Acnezine and Proactive – I feel like I tried it all.

However, I found this simple regiment which is easy and cheap to do, and it has always worked for me. It’s clean, simple, natural and gentle and CHEAP! (cheaper than all the above stuff).

Cause I have oily skin, I rub sliced white potatoes on my skin. It’s an alkaline and has vitamin E, so it cleans up and cools your skin, leaving clearer skin. Seriously, if I ever break out with pimples on my forehead, I’ll layer sliced potatoes on it (like a mask). Afterwards, I splash warm water on my face. The next day, it’s so much better! Not perfect, but noticeably better.

If you have dry skin, I hear cucumbers will give you the same results as above.

So potatoes or cucumbers. Cheap and easy, right? I hope that helped!

i dont usually have alot of acne..but recently alot of acne is startin 2 build up on my face n dont knoe whatz causing it..

i dont noe how 2 get rid of acne using herbal remedy..

You’re probably at an age where your hormone levels are causing your skin to break out. Stress also contributes to acne and so does a lack of vitamin A.

The secret to keeping your face clear is to keep it clean. Black heads often lead to acne so make sure to use aThree Step regimen — "Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize." It is the basic premise behind products like Proactive.

You don’t have to get expensive products; Almay and Neutrogena are good brands to start with. Look in your local drugstore. Popular brands will work well. I have really oily skin that’s really prone to blackheads and I find that using a face towel in the shower (when pores are more open) with a mild cleanser helps reduce blackheads. Use some pressure but do not rub so hard that you hurt yourself. This (the face towel tip) was a tip handed down from my grandma to mom (both maintained beautiful skin to their 60′s and 70′s) to me and it really helps. It will take some practice to find out what amount of pressure is right for you (I’ve been known to scrub too hard in the past – heh, heh) but it does work. Then you can continue with the rest of the three-step care after your shower.

When I’m done with my shower, the toner I use is the generic brand from my drugstore. I apply it with a cotton ball, allow it to dry then apply my moisturizer.

The secret to using a moisturizer is not using too much. Your skin should absorb the moisturizer a few minutes after you apply it. If you still fill a slippery layer of product on your skin, you’ve used to much. A good rule to follow is use a pea-sized amount (at least, start with that) and dot it onto your face with your fingertip on forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Then spread it onto the rest of your face and neck.

OK, I know you said you wanted herbal remedies so here are my natural recommendations:

For a cleanser, use lemon water. Just squeeze a small amount of lemon juice in some water and use this to rinse your face. As a scrub for blackheads, I’ve tried sugar with a bit of water. This works well in the shower or over the sink. Witch hazel works well as a good natural toner and mashed avocado is a good moisturizer (mash it with some lemon juice if you wish, apply it to your face and rinse thoroughly).

I do encourage you to try drugstore products. They do not have to be expensive to work well and they are so convenient (no slicing, squeezing or mashing).

Good luck! and get ready to be radiant and beautiful!!

P.S.
Never use soap on your face. It is too harsh for facial skin and it leaves a residue that causes blackheads.

Are there any really good acne cleansers that you can buy at like Walmart or something that actually work? I have mild but very stubborn acne…it keeps coming back in the same place. Any suggestions?

I recommend clean and clear’s advanced acne treatment. If not, you can dab toothpaste on the stubborn pimple and leave it on for ten minutes. Then wash it off in ten minutes. Repeat this everyday till the pimple dissappears. It will dry it right up!

I have combination skin (oily nose, dry cheeks in the winter) and I have mild acne on my face, chest, upper back, and on my butt cheeks. Gross, I know! :(

I have been using Phisoderm face/body washes and they work okay, but my acne is still there. What are some good products to clear up mild acne? Thanks!

I use baking soad and a little bit of water mixed in. it will turn into a past and you just run it on and when it starts to flack off, go wash your face. That works for black heads as well.

Toothpaste also works. Out it on the places you have acne at night when you go to bed and wash your face in the morning.

People with really oily skin often get blackheads. Oatmeal is one way to treat oily skin. It is very dry, so it absorbs oil from the skin. Plus, it’s inexpensive and natural.

1.)To use oatmeal to help clear your skin, make a thick paste of oatmeal and water. Apply this mix to your face in the morning and evening. Allow the paste to stay on your face for ten to twenty minutes before rinsing with cool water.

2.)Honey and Apple: Another effective all-natural facial mask for those with oily skin is made from honey and apples. After grating the apple into a fine pulp, mix in four tablespoons of honey and apply to your face for ten minutes. Rinse off the mask after ten minutes is up.

3.)Egg Whites, Witch Hazel and Lemon Juice: Another acne home remedy is a mask made of egg whites, witch hazel and lemon juice. To make this mask, beat an egg white until stiff and add a few drops of witch hazel and a few drops of lemon juice. Spread the mixture over the face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse well with lukewarm water.

4.)Tomatoes: Tomatoes work wonders for oily skin. After mashing a ripe tomato, drain the juice on paper towels for a few minutes. Next, take the tomato pieces and pat them onto your face as you are lying back. Leave the pieces on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Do this treatment once daily, preferably in the morning.

Good Luck

I just bought Nature’s Gate Acne Treatment System, I was wondering your opinions about it. I haven’t yet used it but, I REALLY hope it works because I am annoyed of trying to find the right product for my skin. I have oily skin, not too bad more like normal/oily. I have a lot of bumps under the skin that are on my forehead and around my mouth. Also once a month I break-out in my T-zone and it takes weeks to go away.. I’m assuming this is just one of those "perks" that comes with being a teenager. You think this will work for me? And I already tried the "amazing" Proactive… bottom line for me it was a waste of money so no Proactive suggestion, please. Thanks!!
